Depth Adjustment for Mines for Tactical Minelaying.




1. The following depths are to be adopted for tactical minelaying:-

(a) When the moment for laying the mines is known exactly beforehand: 4 m. below low water level of the day.

(b) When the moment for laying the mines cannot be determined exactly enough to ensure that the mines will be 4 m. below low water level of the day: 7 m. below the surface. (This setting on the depth-keeping arrangement.)

(c) When the minefield is to come into action immediately after laying, the same as for (b), ie 7 m. below the surface. (This setting on the depth-keeping arrangement.)

2. The depth adjustments to be adopted in special undertakings, such as mining the enemy's coasts, or blocking of river mouths, are not affected by the above orders.
