This has been extracted from a discussion on the WWI-L Military History Discussion List (wwi-l@raven.cc.ukans.edu), wanting to know the forces involved in this action.

INVINCIBLE and NEW ZEALAND from the Humber, some 50 miles behind Tyrwhitt, joined Beatty. Apparently the BC's did not bring any destroyers from the Grand fleet proper.

CL's STRASSBURG, MAINZ, KOLN, STETTIN, FRAUENLOB(?), STRALSUND, DANZIG, ARIADNE, KOLBURG

Destroyers V178, G194 - 1st and 5th Destroyer Flotillas, also included D8 , V1, and T33, G4, and G11. Probably most of the flotilla, were out., which would be some 10-12 ships per flotilla (one boat acting as leader, and two half-flotillas, made up a German flotilla)
