Dr Ian Oxley is involved in "ScapaMAP": a research project based in the Department of Civil and Offshore Engineering, Heriot-Watt University, to promote the better management of the archaeological and historical heritage resources submerged in Scapa Flow for the benefit of present and future generations.
The intent is to survey all the wrecks in Scapa Flow, scheduled for the summer of 2001. In addition, the team is particularly keen to get divers' recollections of the state of the wrecks as they were in years past. If you've had the pleasure of diving Vanguard or the other ships, please contact:
