    Worth reading to understand how the RN's "Young Turks" were appalled by way the RN "establishment" conducted the naval war.
  • Fry, Brigadier Robert Alan End of the Continental Century in US Naval Institute Proceedings, March 1999.
    The author, an officer in the Royal Marines, has written an interesting piece comparing the end of the 20th century with conditions at the end of the 19th. Of particular interest is the mention of Mahan and the lesser-known Sir Halford Mackinder.

    Some interesting parallels are drawn, but the focus of the paper is on the late 20th Century.
